Ejima, Okutachi Sunday, a professor of Public Health Education and the Chairman, Global Education Partners (GEP), the brain behind Global College Ojokodo- Ankpa was born in October 1959 at Ochadamu, the place his father sojourned as at then. By origin, he is a native of Efikpo- Egume in Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State and a descendant of Ajehu ruling house of Onu – Egume. He is married with children.
He attended Qua Iboe Mission (Q.I.M) Primary School, Ochadamu from 1965 – 1971 for his First School Leaving certificate and Ochaja Secondary School, Ochaja, a school owned by Qua Iboe Mission (Q.I.M)for his secondary Education from 1972 – 1976. He went to College of Education Katsina-Ala in Benue State in September 1977 and finished up in 1980 with the Nigeria Certificate in Education (N.C.E) majoring in Biology and Agricultural Science. In 1982 he left for Ahmadu Bello University (A.B.U) Zaria for his Bachelor Degree in Science Education (Biology Option). For his higher degrees, he attended University of Nigeria, Nsukka and had his master’s degree in Health Education in 1992 and PhD in Public Health Education in 1999.
After his secondary education in 1976, he took up appointment with Dekina Local Education Board as an auxiliary teacher. He was there till September 1977 when he had to resign to enable him pursue higher Education. When he was done with his N.C.E programme in 1980, he was posted by the Federal Government to Imo State for the National Youth Service Programme (NYSC) there he served as a class teacher. On his return from the NYSC programme in 1981, he took up appointment with the Benue State Schools Board and was posted to C.M.M.L Secondary School, Anyigba as an Assistant Education Officer II to teach Biology and Agricultural Science. He was there until 1982 when again he had to resign in pursuit a Bachelor degree.
On successful completion of his First Degree Programme,he secured appointment with Qua Iboe Mission Education Board and was posted to Ochaja Boys Secondary School, Ochaja, his Alma-mata as Education Officer to teach Biology. He was there till September 1985 when he got appointment with College of Education, Katsina –Ala in Benue State, another of his Alma-mata as an Assistant Lecturer in Biology. This marks the starting point of his academic career.
He was in College of Education Katsina-Ala till 1991 when Kogi State was created and he was deployed to Kogi State College of Education, Ankpa where he rose to the rank of Chief Lecturer in the year 2000, the highest one could go as a lecturer in the College of Education system. In the college of Education he held several administrative positions, notable among these includes Head of Department, Dean of school, Director of Academic Planning, Chairman and members of several committees.
He secured appointment with Kogi State University, Anyigba in 2012 as an Associate Professor and was appointed the pioneer Head of the Department of Human Kinetics and Health Education in the faculty of Education of the University. This appointment conferred on him the membership of the University senate. At about June 2017 he was confirmed a professor of Public Health Education by the University Governing Council with effect from October 2015. This gives him a paramount seat in the University senate, the highest body on academic matters. That he is confirmed a professor attests that he is a researcher and a writer. He has several academic articles to his credit.
His community services include among others, pioneer chairman, Sigma Trust Fund (STF), a multi million Naira saving Scheme in Kogi State College of Education, Ankpa, Chairman Egume-Ome Descendants Union, Ankpa chapter, National President of Ochaja Old Students Association (OOSA) and above all, Chairman Global Education partner, the Proprietor of Global College, Ojokodo Ankpa in Kogi State.
He has flare for travelling, listening to cool Gospel Music, dancing and service to humanity.
